Hello everyone,

I hope you have been peaceful and happy in the happy quiet of wake up uk recently. And now it's time to turn to our plans for the summer.

Aaron is planning a trip to plum village for the last week of the summer opening (roughly 26th July - 4th Aug). The summer opening runs from the July 7th - Aug 4th and is for people of all ages with an emphasis on families. It is really lively and joyful.

Jasmine is planning a trip to plum village for the youth retreat. The dates for this are the 21st-28th August. The youth retreat will hopefully explore the kind of stuff we've been doing in the wake up uk retreats - how to practice as young people. And also trying to connect up the wake up movements going on across the world. It will undoubtedly be a lot of fun.

There is also a family retreat in Dorset from 24th-29th August. Currently there is no wake up presence planned for that retreat, but if anyone wants to go you are more than welcome - it will be really good anyway. If enough people go we could organise a separate program.

All retreats will be a great opportunity to experience plum village and Thich Nhat Hanh's teaching in action, and so we want to help you get there if you possibly can! We are thinking of trying to organise either driving a minibus down or travelling by train or plane together.

There are also bursaries available from the UK sangha and from Plum Village if you need ANY financial help (either for the accommodation, which will be reduced anyway). So please please ask! If you are interested in any of these retreats, wanting to know more, or wanting to come, then get in touch!

We have set up a new wake up uk email so please send all your emails to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it where your current wake up organising team (Patrick, Chris, Jasmine, Aaron, and Madeleine) will respond to them (hopefully) promptly. If anyone wants to help organise wake up stuff then please email that address - your support would be very welcome, it only requires responding to emails every now and then.

So I hope you are all enjoying the gradual onset of summer. Keep breathing and keep smiling.

With love, Patrick, Chris, Jasmine, Aaron, and Madeleine
